Committees continue to meet, and the House and Senate are moving legislation as quickly as they can in order to maximize the number of bills being heard. Over the next few weeks, the Ways and Means Committee in the House will begin taking up the budget. Internal conversations will continue among the two caucuses about what budget priorities will filter to the top and end up in the Committee version of the bill. INARF continues to meet with legislators and impress upon them the importance of additional funding for Direct Support Professional wages. Don’t forget to sign up for our VoterVoice Action alerts so when the time comes, you will be the first to know about our outreach efforts. Welcome New Member: The Arc of Evansville INARF is pleased to welcome our newest INARF Organizational member - The Arc of Evansville located in Evansville, IN. Just over 60 years ago, during a time when parents were encouraged to place their children with disabilities in institutions, a group of Evansville-area parents were frustrated with the lack of services available for their children with disabilities in the community. This same group of parents dreamed of an accessible, educational environment for their children with developmental delays to learn and grow regardless of their ability levels. Together, they decided to create The Arc of Evansville, formerly known as Evansville ARC. They offer Adult Day Services, Behavior Management, Community Habilitation, Extended Services, Music Therapy, PAC, Pre-Vocational, Residential Habilitation, Respite Care Services, Transportation, Wellness Coordination, Sheltered Work, 14(c) Certificate Holder and Employment Services in Dubois, Gibson, Posey, Spencer, Vanderburgh and and Warrick counties.
