DDRS Advisory Council: Sarah Chestnut Appointed
INARF is pleased to announce that in coordination with FSSA Secretary Jennifer Sullivan and Kylee Hope, Director of Disability and Rehabilitative Services, Sarah Chestnut has been appointed to the DDRS Advisory Council to represent INARF. The Advisory Council meets monthly and serves several important functions, including a major focus serving as the 1102 Workgroup for Waiver Redesign.

Sarah has been attending the Advisory Council meetings for many months and is well prepared to assume the role as the INARF representative that became available due to Steve's scheduled retirement at the end of June.

Congratulations to Sarah on this important appointment!

Thank You 2020 INARF DSP Series Sponsors
The INARF DSP Series was developed at the request of the INARF Board of Directors as a mechanism to aid INARF members in developing their Direct Support Professional (DSP) workforce. Sponsorship provides organizations interested in increasing their visibility as a strong support of the disability service industry the opportunity to be a critical partner of this valued educational series. Additionally, sponsorship helps to defray the cost for DSPs to access timely, relevant educational content that will enhance the way they deliver services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Thank you to our 2020 INARF DSP Series Sponsors!

Second Class Completes INARF Leadership Academy
On February 21, the INARF Leadership Academy - Class of 2020 completed their final class and will proceed to their graduation ceremony on March 17 as part of the Annual Meeting of the Members.

Over the course of the classes offered, the 19 participants shared high praise for the experience and their appreciation and support to their organization for the opportunity and to the INARF Leadership Skill-Building Workgroup for the development of a unique opportunity to support future industry leaders. Second to the educational experience, group work was mentioned often as being a highlight as participants enjoyed working together and building relationships with their peers. When asked how the networking opportunities are utilized, one participant replied “It is really great to meet colleagues that have so many talents in multiple areas in the field to serve as a resource. Through our discussions, I was able to learn that we all deal with many of the same issues and also learn from ways they have overcome issues.”

Participants were asked to express their interest in joining the INARF Leadership Skill-Building Workgroup to represent the voice of their Class as the development of the Academy – Class of 2021 begins. The names of those interested were included on a ballot and voted on by the Class. We are pleased to announce Melissa Walden of The Arc Southwest Indiana will be joining the INARF Leadership Skill-Building Workgroup effective immediately.

Congratulations to the ILA – Class of 2020 graduates! Visit the INARF Leadership Academy webpage for additional information on the curriculum development and application timeline for the INARF Leadership Academy – Class of 2021.

Searching for Resources and Solutions: Meet the 2020 Exhibitors
In addition to the outstanding educational session line-up, the INARF Annual Conference once again boasts the opportunity for Conference attendees to peruse the
Expo Hall on Thursday, March 19 to gather innovative solutions to programs and services, fill their Conference Tote with useful and fun giveaways, and register for door prize drawings hosted at the various Exhibitor Booths. This year, lunch seating has been expanded in the Expo Hall to allow attendees to peruse and dine at their leisure on a lunch compliments of the Exhibitors. It is a productive way to spend time before sessions begin, at breaks, and in between when a solution attracts their attention.
