As you may be aware, DDRS introduced Extended Services as a proposed service type to replace Supported Employment Follow-Along (SEFA). The proposed service is intended to be broader in scope than SEFA, providing additional “tools” to support an individual in community employment opportunities. An element of the new service definition is that it is to be mutually exclusive with pre-vocational services. If a person requires Extended Services to assist in maintaining a community-based job, s/he is ineligible for pre-vocational services. INARF is aware that there are many instances where consumers use SEFA and Pre-Vocational concurrently as components of their day program. In order to assist in understanding the potential impact of this change on those individuals, we would appreciate your insight by responding to a brief survey no later than the close of business on Wednesday, December 3. To access the survey please use the following link: INARF Extended and Prevocational Services Survey We will use this feedback as we develop the Association’s comments to these proposed changes. Please do not hesitate to contact Christiaan Campbell if you have any questions or need additional information.
