QUESTION: The state’s requirement for Wellness Coordination is that the RN/LPN nursing staff conduct all trainings for all staff members on all risk plans related to individual-specific wellness issues. The training cannot be conducted by non-nursing staff. Can other providers share how they manage staff training for Wellness Coordination? Our organization contracts for wellness coordination. Training for risk plans is not on the list as the rate does not cover all the position is asked to do. When we have a plan that is medically involved, we will ask for training from the hospital nursing staff. They have provided limited amount to us at no cost. Sometimes the Doctor’s office nurse will provide procedural training for their patient.
