Within your agency’s employment department, what is the structure of the management team?

QUESTION: Within your agency’s employment department, what is the structure of the management team? Is there a Director, Manager, Team Leads, etc.? Do any of these act as a manager and also have a caseload? Does your agency feel that they have an effective team with this structure?

Our agency has a Director, with a management team consisting of Lead Employment Consultants who have a small caseload and supervise a group of Employment Consultants in one area. There are also a group of Employment Consultants with caseloads that supervise job coaches when they are assigned to that Employment Consultant’s clients only.

Our agency has a Vice President of Vocational Services, Director of Vocational Services, Employment Specialists and one Administrative Staff. The Coordinator and Employment Specialists all carry caseloads. The Director handles all BINS clients, assists clients through quarterlies and annuals for Stateline funding.

***

Our agency has an Employment Department that consists of a Director, manager and Employment Specialists. The Manager does carry a caseload. This structure has worked very well for our agency.

***

Our agency has a Division Director who oversees all employment programs including Assessment, Project Search sites, RBF Employment Programs and other special projects. We also have an Employment Manager who reports to the Division Director and directly supervises the employment staff of 16-18 people. There are no Team Leads and the Employment Manager does not have a caseload. We feel this structure works very well with the services we provide.
