In response, we created a competency based assessment form that incorporates traditional questions about ANE and incidents, but also includes 6 hypothetical scenarios of possible situations encountered in the field and requires that staff select from a variety of potential responses to each. This seemed to meet DDRS requirement in this regard. We have all staff complete at hire and then during annual training moving forward. We started utilizing a form that required the staff to sign off for each online training and the supervisor has to sign off that they have witnessed the staff demonstrating competency for each area.
