QUESTION: Would anyone be willing to share any hiring notices or contracts that address hourly wage difference between full time and part time employees and/or shift differential for working weekends? For example, any documentation staff sign noting they are paid at a higher rate for part time or working weekends. Our organization developed a form called the “Personal Payment Authorization”. This form is used by hiring managers to differentiate multiple departments, hours, and rates of pay. Any time an employee’s location, hours, or pay change, this form is required by HR to change their information in the computer system. We do this to make sure employee information is consistent between the HR and Payroll departments. *** We really don't have any documentation we require staff to sign noting their specifics for being full- or part-time, and that includes any type of documentation for a weekend differential. The individuals are informed at time of hire what their status/rate of pay will be, and this conversation is also held when there is a change in a person's status/rate of pay. There is a On-Line Status Form for Documenting Status or Wage Change that is completed in each case that is placed in the person's file.
