QUESTION: Do providers need to contact Indiana State Department of Health (ISDH) prior to remodeling or making improvements to a kitchen in a group home? Providers conducting kitchen remodels that impact the habiltability and usability of a group home should contact ISDH to discuss the remodel prior to beginning work on the group home. Providers should contact Kim Rhoades, Division Director of ISDH Division of Long Term Care (317-233-7289). Providers should be able to explain the need for the remodel and plans to provide alternative methods of making or obtaining meals for residents of the group home.
