QUESTION: Our organization currently has in-house First Aid/CPR trainers and we are able to administer TB tests. We currently do not charge for these items, and we wanted to know how other agencies are doing this. Are there any agencies who charge? If so, how much? Do any organizations hold cards and results and charge if the staff person asks for a copy or leaves the agency and wants a copy? Our agency does offer in-house CPR/First Aid training. We do not charge our employees for this training. We keep copies of the certification card and training results for personnel files, but the actual certification card is presented to the employee after copies are made. *** We do have an in house trainer for CPR/First Aid and we do not charge staff for the training. We also have in house nurses that administer the TB testing. *** We do not charge employees for First Aid/CPR or TB. We cover the costs. The records become part of the employee’s personnel file, so they may request a copy at any time. We do not hold them or charge them. *** Our organization has an in-house CPR/First Aid instructor. We do not charge for these courses. We generally allow individuals to take their card with them if they have completed 1+ years of service. We do not provide the certification cards for those individuals who do not complete their probationary period. *** We also train in house for CPR/First Aid and administer TB tests. We do not charge for these items. If an employee has to have their TB screen administered twice because they failed to have it read, we do charge $20 to have it administered again. We keep copies of all certifications and trainings but do not charge a previous employee if they request a copy. *** We do not charge for First Aid/CPR courses or TB tests. We do not charge for cards after an employee leaves us because the card is theirs. *** We do not charge current or former employees for originals or copies.
