Open Future Learning Opportunity is still available On June 17, 2022, the Bureau of Disabilities Services announced a new learning opportunity for all BDS providers and their direct support professionals through the Open Future Learning platform. This was open to all types of providers, including those providing services in a supervised group living setting. This opportunity offered DSPs access to online training in a format that is easy to access and engage with, that not only provides relevant training topics, but also embeds philosophies and concepts to support person-centered services and integration strategies. The original announcement can be found here. Training modules from Open Future Learning are meant to assist providers and DSPs in building knowledge and skills by exploring a variety of ways to support and address areas of outstanding need among Hoosiers receiving services. BDS announced the subscriptions and DSP stipends would be offered to interested providers at no cost. At this time, there remains available opportunities to take advantage of this initiative. This opportunity will be open until Oct. 31, 2024, or until all opportunities have been exhausted, whichever comes first. BDS created a FAQ document for this initiative to support BDS providers in evaluating this opportunity. If you have any additional questions regarding this, please contact BDS.Help@fssa.in.gov. We look forward to continuing to educate and inspire providers to empower individuals to live, love, learn, work, play and pursue their dreams!
