On June 30, 2022, DDRS released the update below that announces a series of three virtual sessions intended for individuals and families to have the opportunity to hear from DDRS on the status of waiver redesign, to learn about “The Path Forward,” the upcoming summary document outlining priority areas for identified upcoming waiver changes, and to provide input for the Innovation Grants. DDRS indicated to INARF that providers are welcome to join these meetings, understanding that the focus is on sharing information with and hearing from the priorities of individuals and families. Details are outlined below. DDRS Updates The Division of Disability and Rehabilitative Services recently announced pilot project opportunities to explore promising practices and service delivery approaches to enhance HCBS waiver services for individuals with intellectual/developmental disabilities (https://www.in.gov/fssa/ddrs/files/HCBS-Innovation-Pilot-Projects-application-period-now-open.pdf). These opportunities will further support and inform DDRS in waiver redesign efforts. DDRS has scheduled several upcoming online sessions for individuals and families to join to learn more about BDDS’ waiver redesign activities, what efforts have been made, and what ideas from the Initial Concept Paper (https://www.in.gov/fssa/ddrs/files/IndianaConceptPaper_FINAL.pdf) have been identified for upcoming changes over the course of the next two years. These online meetings will also have time allotted for additional input from individuals and families for their ideas and thoughts about potential pilot projects that would help meet their needs. In addition, DDRS staff will share highlights of what will be released this summer in The Path Forward – a summary document outlining priority areas for identified upcoming waiver changes.
