QUESTION: Would other agencies be willing to share what system they are utilizing to obtain criminal history and driving background checks? Our agency uses the State of Indiana, Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) and Safe Hire websites. *** We use Indiana for the driver’s license checks and Reference Services for the other criminal history check. Reference Services will also conduct driver’s record checks for out of state candidates and employees. *** For criminal history and driving background checks, our agency uses Safe Hiring Solutions, as well as the IN.gov website. We have an account set up with the IN.gov website in order to complete the Indiana State Police and Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) checks. Safe Hiring Solutions does a much more comprehensive background screening that is required for agencies to complete. *** Our agency utilizes the Indiana State Police Limited Criminal History Report, the Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles, as well as submits requests to any county of residence the candidate or employee has resided in the past three years. *** Our agency uses the State of Indiana website to obtain the limited criminal history and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles (BMV) for driving records. We also use Intellicorp for national criminal history searches on employees. *** To obtain driving records, our agency uses Intellicorp.
