In September, BDDS announced in their updated policy guidance that the limit of 60 calendar days of therapeutic leave has been modified to 180 calendar days of therapeutic leave per calendar year, allowing SGL providers to bill the leave rate when an individual is on therapeutic leave for up to 180 days per calendar year. Several members reported that they have attempted to bill for additional therapeutic leave days and their claims have been denied with the reason Exceeds number of leave days allowed for this time period. INARF reached out to DDRS regarding this issue, and DDRS shared they are working with OMPP to publish an updated bulletin including the 180 calendar days of therapeutic leave per calendar year. INARF will share additional information as it becomes available.
